UPDATE ON LAS VEGAS SHOOTING

Below are updates, I have received from two of our Pastors, regarding the Las Vegas Shooting.

Pastor Larry Semore, Henderson, Open Arms Church of God

"While everyone in our church is visibly shaken, some are quite traumatized. The 22 year old grandson of one member survived, while taking cover next to a deceased person. Another member waited 18 hours for a report on her missing cousin and finally got the news that she was shot in the hip and in surgery but should have a complete recovery. This same member has 2 other family members who were shot but were not critically wounded. Many in our church are emotionally distressed but looking for ways to serve our community during these extremely difficult times."

Pastor Jeffery Sullivan, Las Vegas, Family Worship Center Church of God

"Rita (Kathia's daughter) went to work the next day and is just trying to stay with her normal routine. Justin is doing the same. Everyone seems to be dealing with it all in that way. I've encouraged them not to miss an opportunity to tell folks that they love them. Kathia and Chrissy (Justin's wife) have been shaken more than most."

URGENT PRAYER REQUEST

Las Vegas Shooting!

By now, we all should be aware of the tragic shooting at a concert venue in Las Vegas, NV last night. I have been in touch with our three pastors in the area and have received the following information as of this time. No one from our three churches in Las Vegas and Henderson was killed or wounded by the gunfire. A lady named Rita from Family Worship Center (Pastor Jeff Sullivan) was at the concert and sustained bruising on her leg from running out of the venue. In addition, Jason, an EMT from Jeff's church was one of the first responders and was up all night helping those affected. He said it was the most horrific event he has ever covered.

Brian and Ashley Mosley, pastors at The Springs Church, were at a wedding just 5 minutes away from the concert and left the area about 20 minutes before the shooting. While no one from their church was injured, many in their church had friends and family at the concert.

Larry Semore says that no one from the church at Henderson was at the concert.

I am currently in Reno, NV. Alice and I ministered at the Reno church yesterday morning for Pastor Bob and Kelly Francl and last night at Stagecoach for Pastor James and Georgene Moore. Just a few minutes ago, Kelly Francl texted us to let us know that Bob's cousin Malinda was wounded in her leg last night at the concert. Alice and I met her father and husband at church yesterday morning. She has been treated at a local hospital and hopes to be released today and fly home to Reno. She was at the concert with her 15 year old daughter and laying on top of her to protect her when she she was shot in the leg. Unfortunately, a girl that was trying to take cover laying next to her daughter was shot and killed.

Please pray with me for all of these pastors and churches as they reach out in love to minister to the people in their city impacted by this horrible event. I will keep you posted if we receive any further pertinent information.
